Due to the entry into force of the “Law of Services of the Information Society” referent modification established by the Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the user express consent of all the websites which use dispensable cookies, before the user start browsing on them.

 

WHAT ARE COOKIES ?

 

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and recover information about their visitors, as well as to offer a correct functioning of the site.

Through the use of these devices the web server is allowed to remember some data concerning to the user, as their preferences for the visualization of pages of that server, name and password, products which they find interesting, etc.

According to the UE directive, cookies which require the informed consent from the user are the cookies of analytics and advertising and affiliation, leaving apart the ones with a technical nature and the necessary for the functioning of the website or the expressed requested service delivery by the user.

 

WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES EXIST?

 

About cookies types, there are five large groups:

  • Analytic cookies: they collect information of the use performed in the website.
  • Social cookies: they are the necessary ones for external social media.
  • Member cookies: they allow to do a tracking of the visits coming from other webs, which the website establish an affiliation contract with (affiliation companies).
  • Advertising and behavioral cookies: the collect information about the user preferences and personal elections. (retargeting)
  • Technical and functional cookies: they are the strictly necessary for the website use and the service provided delivery.

 

COOKIES USED IN THIS WEBSITE

 

  • PHPSESSID: technical and strictly necessary cookie which contains the session identifier. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
  • _lang: technical cookie and strictly necessary cookie which contains the session language. It is deleted when the browser is closed.
  • ac_cookies: technical cookie and strictly necessary cookie which contains the value of the acceptance of having installed cookies. It expires in 1 year since the last update.
  • _ga: Google Analytics cookie that enables the unique visits control function. The first time that a user enter a website through a browser the cookie will be installed. When this user enters a web with the same browser again, the cookie will consider it is the same user. Just in the case that the user changes the browser, another user will be considered. It expires in 2 years since the last update. More information of the treatment made by Google analytics
  • _gat: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to limit the petition speed- the limitation of data collection in high traffic sites. It expires in 10 minutes.
  • _gid: This cookie is associated with Google Analytics. It is used to distinguish users. It expires in 24 hours.

HOW TO DELETE COOKIES FROM THE BROWSER

 

Chrome

  1. Select the Tools icon.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Click Show Advanced Options.
  4. In the selection “Privacy” click Content Configuration.
  • Delete cookies: Click All cookies and data sites…
  • Not allowing cookies to store.
  1. Click Delete navigation data (empty cache)
  2. Close and reset the browser.

Internet Explorer. Version 11

  1. Select tools| Internet options
  2. Click General tab.
  3. In the selection “Browsing history”, click Delete browsing history when leaving.
  4. Select Delete files.
  5. Select Delete cookies.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Click Accept.
  8. Close and reset the browser.

Firefox. Version 18

  1. Select Firefox| History | Clean the recent history.
  2. Next to “Details”, click the arrow down.
  3. Select the following verification boxes: Cookies, Cache, Active logins.
  4. Using the “Time interval to erase” in the dropdown menu, select All.
  5. Click Delete Now.
  6. Close and reset the browser.

You can accept or refuse individually the Firefox Preferences, in the section Available History in Tools > Options > Privacy.

  1. Select the Safari icon / Edit| Restore Safari.
  2. Select the following verification boxes: Delete history, Delete all website data.
