The study results show that most people are not aware that their habits are not the most appropriate. Seven out of 10 Spaniards consider adequately fed. However, the study shows that 70% does not perform the recommended five a day and 90% do not take a full breakfast or no breakfast meals.

In most cases, women show better nutritional habits than men, especially those with children under 14 years. The lack of planning is the main cause of these bad habits: 82% of households improvises the weekly menu or planned at short notice. Conclusion: Spanish suspend on food. 1. Breakfast

Only 10% make a full breakfast according to the patterns of a balanced diet. This should include three food groups: a milk (one glass of milk, yogurt ...), cereals (bagel, toast, whole grains ...) and a piece of fruit or fresh juice.

2. Mid-morning and afternoon snack

Of the five recommended meals, snack midmorning and are the great forgotten. 44% of those who eat breakfast do not take anything at midmorning and, therefore, do not eat any food for 6 hours. The motives? 48% of those not taking anything midmorning says it does because it has the habit, 35% because they are hungry and 16% because they do not have time.

3. Hydrate

While 82% of the Spanish claims that consuming the right amount of water, the reality leads them the opposite, and 73% do not eat the recommended eight glasses. "I'm not thirsty" (39%), "I forget to drink water" (28%) or "costs me / I have to force" (19%) are the most common excuses. However, 26% of respondents simply believes that it consumes a sufficient amount of water. This lack of awareness is especially true among young people aged 20 to 34 years.

4. What do we eat?

 

 

 

Fruits and vegetables: 64% of the Spanish states that consume the daily amount of fruit recommended but in fact 78% do not: 38% consumed less than 3 servings recommended and even 40% do not consume fruit daily . In the case of men, 1 of every 2 does not consume or a piece of fruit each day. As for vegetables, 67% of the Spanish states that consume the recommended (2 servings a day) when, in fact, 58% do not eat vegetables or vegetables daily dietary allowance (66% in the case of mens).
Legumes: 59% of the Spanish claims to consume the recommended amount of weekly vegetables (2-4 servings per week) and that does not correspond to reality; even so, 25% consumed less than 2 servings a week.
Meat: 54% of Spaniards say consume the recommended amount (one weekly ration) weekly red meat. However, the reality is that 59% consume more amount than it should (2.52 servings per week). In the case of white meat consumption it is quite in line with the recommendations, with a consumption of 4.48 servings per week, slightly higher than the recommended amount (3-4 servings a week). His image helps, since 48% of women think that is a healthy meat.
Fish: 65% of respondents did not consume or consume less fish than recommended, made especially significant among older (85%). 50% of respondents are aware that consume less fish than they should.
